Background

The National School Climate Center (NSCC) is at the forefront of creating supportive and positive educational environments. Its mission is rooted in the belief that fostering inclusive, nurturing school climates promotes both academic success and personal growth. In collaboration with unsgnd.ca, the organization undertook a rebranding and digital strategy overhaul in 2024 to enhance its visibility, consistency, and impact. This initiative aimed to position NSCC as a leading authority in improving school climates nationwide.

Challenge

NSCC faced challenges related to limited brand recognition, fragmented visual identity across its initiatives, and underutilized digital channels. Additionally, its core message needed clearer communication to resonate with a diverse audience, including educators, parents, policymakers, and community stakeholders. These gaps hindered NSCC's ability to amplify its influence and connect effectively with its audience.

Solution

A comprehensive brand and digital communication strategy was developed to unify NSCC’s visual identity and voice. Key efforts included refining the brand mission and tagline, designing cohesive visual guidelines, and creating a dynamic content strategy for digital channels. The new approach focused on leveraging NSCC's expertise in fostering school climate improvements through research, advocacy, and community engagement.

Scope

  • Brand Identity Development: Creation of a consistent logo, color palette, and typography reflecting values of growth, inclusivity, and education. A new tagline, “Strengthening Communities, One School at a Time,” encapsulated the organization’s mission.

  • Digital Strategy: Enhancements included a website redesign for user-friendly navigation, SEO optimization, and mobile responsiveness. Social media campaigns and email newsletters were introduced to engage and inform diverse stakeholders.

  • Content Creation: A robust content plan featuring blog posts, webinars, and videos was designed to establish NSCC as a thought leader.

  • Community Engagement: Collaborative initiatives, workshops, and user-generated content fostered deeper connections with the target audience.

Results

Unified Brand Presence

The introduction of the refined visual identity led to a cohesive brand presence across all touchpoints. NSCC’s materials now consistently communicate professionalism and purpose, fostering greater trust among its stakeholders.

Increased Digital Engagement

Website traffic surged by 45% within the first quarter following the relaunch, with social media platforms seeing a 60% increase in interactions. The optimized SEO strategy improved NSCC’s visibility in searches related to school climate.

Strengthened Stakeholder Relationships

Webinars and workshops attracted over 1,500 educators and administrators in six months, highlighting NSCC’s value as a resource hub. Feedback indicated a 30% increase in positive sentiment towards the organization’s initiatives.
